NEW BIKINI
I need a new bikini because mine doesn´t fit me. I want to buy a yellow bikini. I love this colour and think that the yellow bikinis are very beautiful. Tomorrow I am going shopping to Lucena. I have to go by car. It takes me 30 minutes. I don´t like to go shopping because it´s boring. There isn´t a shopping centre in Lucena, so I will go to four or five shops. Tomorrow is Wednesday , so I will go in the afternoon after school. If the price is good , I might buy two bikinis.

Yesterday it was my brother 's birthday. He told me that he saw a beautiful tracksuit and trainers in a sports shop in the city center. He wanted that, so I bought it for him.
This morning, I was going to the shop, when a man, who I don't knowt, told me: Those are the tracksuit and trainers that your brother wants!
I don't know why, but I think that was true, and I bought it.
Today, I gave it to my brother, and he was very happy.
So, how does this man know what my brother wants?

Gemma is a good and affectionate mother of two children. It was 12 o'clock at night and her daughter Alma wasn't there yet . Gemma put the news and they said: "young girl dies after being trapped and four people have serious injuries". At the end of the news they said that the name of the deceased was Alma. She was crying, she couldn't believe what it was said, it was her child. Gemma looked at her telephone and saw a message from her daughter, asking her forgiveness for not saying anything she had done. She never forgot the message from her daughter.

Our own flash fiction (3ºB)

This is a selection of our best flash fiction stories

The flavour of nothing

I was going for a walk, during my holidays, when I thought about going to a restaurant. In that moment, I saw a restaurant called "The flavour of nothing". I felt curiosity and I came into it. There, a waiter, without asking me what I wanted to eat or drink, put a plate on the table. Empty. Or that is what I thought.

Playing my guitar
I play my guitar everyday. When I was playing the guitar last Tuesday, I heard a strange noise.
The mirror of the bathroom was broken. I was home alone  and I was very scared.
I didn't know why I heard this noise and I looked in every room in my house and when I arrived to the bathroom, I saw that the mirror was broken. I didn't think that the mirror was broken before, the mirror was new and I heard another noise,I hadn’t heard before. I was surprised.
Actually, my family and I don't know why the mirror broke and why it did in that moment.
We think that it was chance.
Rosana Quintana 3º B

One day, my friend from Sweden, sent me a letter. He said I would receive a great surprise, but he couldn’t tell me more. I was excited, but I was very nervous. Two days later, he sent me another letter. He said he had a big problem. I wanted to help him, but I didn’t know any more. The next day, when I got up, he was sitting on the sofa and he said me ``this is your surprise´´.

They met after  a long time. She showed her ring happily. He told her a very sad love history : “I love you”. And she asked if there was anything that ever made him smile. She said what she remembered of the sound of the door when he went away and he didn't smile. He was a smoker and an alcoholic. She, didn´t drink any alcohol. Twenty years later, at last, she understood the benefits the of alcohol. After the break up of that damn love. Everything was very difficult and complicated. So the good times didn´t come back and the bad moments were always there.

The fair of Saint Domingo de Guzmán

The fair of Saint Domingo de Guzmán, in Jauja, is around July or August (in summer), it lasts one week.
In that week, lots of people are in the street all day and all night too.
During the day, people go to pubs and cafés, and during the night, some people enjoy the attractions, and the rest are eating and dancing in the "caseta municipal" or municipal tent.
Thursday is the day of "Pescaito frito" or fried fish. In this day, all people stay in the "caseta" and eat fish. You pay for a drink and the fish is free.
There is a contest for people who wear "trajes de gitana" or gypsy costumes. The winner wins 100 euros.
In that fair, there is also a beauty contest for Miss and Mister, and they win money and a poster for themselves.

Micro stories and flash fiction

Quoting wikipedia, flash fiction is fictional work of extreme brevity, including the Six-Word Story,140-character stories, also known as twitterature, the dribble (50 words),the drabble (100 words),and sudden fiction (750 words).
Here are some examples:

Six- Word Story
"For sale: baby shoes, never worn." is the entirety of what has been described as a six-word novel, making it an extreme example of what is called flash fiction or sudden fiction.

Twitterature: Harry Potter
from http://www.twitterature.us/us/ex.htm
Hello everyone from under the stairs! Aunt and Uncle threw me under here again. Gosh, life is so hard.
OMG I'm a WIZARD! And my parents are DEAD WIZARDS! Off to magic boarding school.
OMG the year's over. Time goes fast when you're having fun. Goes slow if you have to read seven books with lots of adverbs.

100 word story
from http://www.100wordstory.org/6273/calling-mom-home/
Calling Mom Home
I call my mom once a year, on the day she died. Five times I have pulled up “Mom Home” in my contacts. Five times I have pressed the phone icon. Five times she has never picked up.
I haven’t given her much time. I tap the red disconnect button as soon as I hear the first ring. “Call ended” flashes across the screen, and she is gone.
I worry someday someone will answer. Someone who is not my mom. Someone whose number this is now. That someone might call back, ask who this is anyway.
I would tell them.
Elizabeth Boquet is a Louisiana writer living in Connecticut. She writes in the space between New Orleans and New Haven.

How to write flash fiction?
Use a small idea.
Start in the middle of the story, at the beginning of the conflict
Take out all unnecessary words.
Focus on one main conflict.
You don’t need more than one or two charachters.

Dodgeball

This text has been adapted form a Wikipedia article

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodgeball

Dodgeball is a game in which players on two teams try to throw balls at each other while avoiding being hit themselves. In North America, the game is typically played among children ages 6–12 in elementary school. It is also popular in informal settings and is often played on a playground.
There are many variations of the game, but generally the main objective of each team is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by hitting them with thrown balls, catching a ball thrown by a member of the opposing team, or forcing them to move outside the court boundaries when a ball is thrown at them.

Do you know any games similar to this in Spain? What are the rules?

All the fun of the fair: A guiri's guide to Spain's ferias

This text has been adapted from this blog entry

https://www.thelocal.es/20170418/feria-guide-spain-fair-april-fiesta-

As Seville prepares to host its famous Feria de Abril, here is everything you need to know to enjoy all the fun of the fair!
What is a feria?
Feria, as you might have guessed, means fair in English and is a week-long event celebrated at a different time of year for each city and town, primarily in the south of Spain.
Most of these fairs are typically celebrated during the spring or autumn, but there are some in the summer.
Entrance
Most towns and cities have a fair ground area where casetas or large tents are erected every year and rented to local businesses, restaurants and organizations.
The casetas contain bars where food and drinks are served, a dance floor and tables. There are no entrance restrictions or fees, anyone can enter the fairgrounds, any caseta they choose and enjoy the food and drink. The exception to this rule, is Feria de Abril or the Seville Feria.
Food
Pescaito frito or fried fish is the most typical food at feria; menus also contain all of the other typical Spanish foods, jamón, montaditos etc. and you’ll find the food prices to be slightly higher than usual, as you’d probably expect.
