Bedroom in Arles

Bedroom in Arles  is the title of  three similar paintings by 19th-century painter Vincent van Gogh.
Van Gogh's own title for this composition was simply The Bedroom (French: La Chambre à coucher).
The painting depicts van Gogh's bedroom at 2, Place Lamartine in Arles, Bouches-du-Rhône, France, known as the Yellow House.

The Halloween Pumpkin contest

We had a Halloween Pumpkin contest at school. Here are some opinions on the pumpkins.

My favourite pumpkin is small and orange. It's rotten but it is very beautiful. It has got big eyes and a terrific mouth. It has got a purple hat with stars and a Moon . It has got three hanging spiders.

Alphabetical

The Alphabet Game or Alphabetical is a show broadcast on the BBC.

The game consists on several rounds with different word games. On its final round, the contestants compete to answer separate sets of 26 questions, whose answers each start with a different letter from A to Z in order (with the exception of X, which can appear anywhere in the word). Only one contestant plays at any moment, using the time on their own clock; the opponent's clock is stopped. Both contestants start at A and advance one letter at a time, with the champion playing first. When a contestant either passes or gives an incorrect answer, control goes to the opponent, who resumes play on the letter after the one on which they last passed or missed. A contestant may return to a passed question only by playing through the entire alphabet to reach it again.

During timed rounds, they may pass a question by saying "alphabetical"

A postcard from places I've never visited

This activity is based on the character of Albert in The Parrot's Theorem by Denis Guedj. Albert is a Parisian taxi driver who can talk about the most beautiful cities in the world but has never traveled out of Paris. He has learned about those places listening to the clients that he has picked up at the airport from all over the world.

What are we going to do? We are going to choose one of the pictures and write a Whatsapp text to a friend from a place we have never visited.
